Airdrop & Sacrifice

Pre-mainnet, Topaz seeded its governance base in two parallel tracks: a community airdrop snapshot and a fixed-rate sacrifice window on Abstract. Both are now closed, and veTOPAZ has been distributed.

Both events are closed
Final veTOPAZ allocations were distributed to each recipient's locked BNB-Chain destination at mainnet launch via the AirdropDistributor contract. No claim step, no further action required.

The airdrop

The airdrop snapshot was taken pre-mainnet across qualifying Abstract and BNB Chain ecosystem activity. Eligible wallets registered a locked BNB-Chain destination during the destination-lock window. At mainnet launch, veTOPAZ was airdropped directly to those destinations via the AirdropDistributor — no claim step.

Wallets that did not lock a destination before the deadline forfeited their allocation.

The sacrifice

The sacrifice was a time-boxed contribution window on Abstract that let supporters earn additional veTOPAZ on top of the airdrop snapshot. It opened April 24, 2026 at 18:00 UTC and closed ahead of mainnet.

The sacrifice allocated 150,000,000 veTOPAZin total — the full global cap. Like the airdrop, veTOPAZ was distributed to each contributor's locked BNB-Chain destination at mainnet launch.

  • Chain: Abstract (sacrifice deposits only).
  • Accepted assets: gBLUE, DEPTH, and USDC at a fixed rate of $0.005 per veTOPAZ.
  • Global cap: 150,000,000 veTOPAZ (fully allocated).
  • Per-wallet cap: 10,000,000 veTOPAZ.
  • Distribution: airdropped to each wallet's BNB-Chain destination at mainnet launch.
  • One-way: deposits could not be withdrawn.

Destination wallets

Distribution landed on BNB Chain, so every airdrop-eligible and sacrifice-contributing wallet had to register a non-AGW EVM address (MetaMask, Rabby, hardware wallet, etc.) as its destination before the destination-lock deadline. AGW accounts don't exist on BNB Chain, which is why AGW participants were required to set a separate BNB-Chain destination. Wallets without a destination on file at the deadline forfeited their allocation.

Why these events existed

The airdrop and sacrifice were designed to bootstrap a vote-active veTOPAZ base from day one. They put governance power in the hands of aligned supporters before mainnet, so emissions, voting, and bribe markets all had real participation from the first epoch rather than ramping up cold.
